Not one of favorite things to do (ride during a holiday weekend), the Mrs. and I went to St. Augustine, the oldest non native settlement in north America via some wonderful back roads and culminating with a long drive down the coast. The city (for that matter Florida, was settled by the Spaniards around the 1500's). Enjoy the pics! ![]() xxx![]() ![]() xx![]() ![]() --------------------------------- Why are you reading ths?

St Augustine maybe the most beautiful city in the US. Real concrete, brick and mortar buildings. Some character you can not find enywhere else but maybe in Cuba or Puerto Rico. I've ben there last year too. I'm very impressed with these concrete buildings. Builders couldn't find stone around and they poured concrete, layer by layer to build these huge walls... The other impressive building material was "coquina".
Most of the city walls, houses, including this beatiful fort "Castillo de San Marco" build with this material. It's a crushed and bonded shells of sea creatures. A natural wonder, if you look closely, I'm telling you.
Detail... Enjoy.

I just went to St. Augustine for a lunch ride. I hope you guys and gals got the opportunity to eat at the King's Head British Pub. It is a great lunch stop and a good destination. About 5 miles north of town on Hwy. 1. Crank
