Just wondering what you guys wear underneath your riding pants, jeans, whatever. More and more I'm feeling the need for something better than the standard ol' boxers. What do you wear or recommend? Do you use different garments for cold weather vs hot weather? Are you experimental and try something new every weekend? Sorry for the odd subject, but I'd love to find something more comfortable and --ahem -- supportive for the weekends rides, as well as the daily commute. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Scott

I don't do a lot of distance riding, but the last time I did any significant saddle time I tried out a pair of bicycle shorts, with the chamois liner. It made the F650GS standard seat rather less hellish.

I wear a Rallye 2 suit, with hip, thigh, knee, elbow, shoulder, back padding. Commuting-- I just wear what I'm going to wear to work. Riding for Fun: COld weather: pair of fleecy thermals. maybe two. Polartech, Warm weather- soccer shorts, or maybe a pair of those boxer briefs.

Champion Duo Dry (synthetic-not cotton). Fits great, wicks water. I'm replacing all my underwear and t shirts as they wear out. You can buy them at Target at a decent price. Winter or summer. Robo

Spectacular! I am of Scottish decent and do have a kilt lying around here somewhere (I think)... Although I would worry about chafing. Yikes. The Champion Duo Dry sounds good. The wife is always wanting to be at Target for some reason. I'll have to check it out next time we're there. Thanks!

Scott, It has already been suggested that you give cycling shorts a try and I agree wholeheartedly.I suggest trying "Pearl Izumi"with fieldsensor these are the best by far and they will not blow over your head. MB

I rode, on average, 30-40 miles per day, nearly every day through my teenage years. I'm very familiar with cycling shorts. Stupid thing is, it never occurred to me to use them on the motorbike I think for longer ride they will likely be just what the doctor ordered. And without the drafty side-effects of the kilt. Thanks guys. Keep the suggestions coming. Brands, fabrics, colors...whatever you have discovered.

Frankly, I find vinyl saddles to be the culprit. Get it recovered in breeathable leather and you can resume "whatever wear."

Since about the second week with my bike I've been thinking about what I'd like to re-cover the seat with. Breathable leather, huh? I'll have to look into it.
Thanks
