BMW Sport Club?

HI folks:

I am interested in forming a BMW sport bike club. As a life-long BMW fanatic and sport bike nut, I have struggled with the fact that BMW really wouldn't produce a sporting line. Well, in my opinion, they initiated their sporting line with the 1100s boxer. I have since sold all of my bimotas and Ducatis and have sworn to never buy another italian bike. I am interested in forming a sport only club that will primarily be charged with developing and promoting BMW only track days. If you are interested in this please email me. I am in the Daytona Beach, Fl area. I'd like to arrange track days at circuits such as Jennings GP, Barber, Road Atlanta, and yes, Daytona.......there are other venues in other parts of the country that we could also explore. As BMW is poised to become more sporting with the intro of the new F 800s and new supermoto, etc, it is my view that the time is right to form such an organization. I am tired of fighting teenaged squids at track days on scraped up rice rockets. We BMW enthusiasts, as thinking men and women, need our own venue to ride our machines to their capacity and enjoy fellowship and interaction with like-minded individuals.

We need ten folks to join and then we can be charted by the national club.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I also thank you for the cool power cup photo. The best thing to do is to email me directly and I will add you to the "roster" of interested folks. I plan to open a website soon and then contact BMW NA and the national club to get chartered. If we can get at least ten people we can be recognized as a club. My goal is to get about 50 people in one year to register and contribute some dues (albeit minimal) ...we can then establish the forum to discuss the track days and perhaps semi-annual track day national meetings - perhaps alternate between west coast (laguna seca) and east (daytona, barber and/or northeast USA). I am convinced that we can get some degree of support from BMW NA as they are indeed going to be targeting the european sport bike market more and more in the future. Email me at edxdoc@yahoo.com and I will put you on my list. I am looking forward to hearing from other BMW sport bike enthusiasts in the future!

Thanks,

Don

That is a wonderful idea, that I would be interestedin.

Living in the center of the country we alsohave a few tracks available that you might be able to contact,

The closest one to me is Heartland Park inTopeka,KS. That has bike related activities from time to time and alsoone near Omaha, minnesota andWisconson.

Sign me up also.

I also think we need to get more of the dealerships involved with the sport bike community.

I am showing my support for BMW with helping out team XPLOR (N8) at events. I say we get this thing off the ground and moving, almost like bringing back the BOXER CUP series american style.biggrinbiggrinbiggrinflag

i think it would be cool to combine the 2 previous "cup" races, boxer and power.

having all the bmw  sport oriented bikes in one series, for example....

unlimited mods r1200s/r1100s

semi-modded k1200r

stock k1200s/r-sport

something like that.

HI JC

Thanks for the note! I'd like to have members from all over the world in the club, and yes, I'd like to do a track day at least once per year in every region of the country. Please email me at edxdoc@yahoo.com and I will add you to the mailing list and we will keep you posted.

Thanks again,

I am open to any class structures that the members would want. I think perhaps basic track days should be run in the traditional sessions of novice, intermediate and fast......i think the club could then sponsor nationally oriented races for various bmw classes...maybe a kina annual event ala SCCA runnoffs...just a thought

thanks

With all of the sport riders on the R1100s's. Does anybody know we can get the BOXER CUP rear wheel stands? PIT-BULL doesn't make them anymore.
