Pbgoss Joined: Apr 03, 2007 Location: Wakefield, RI	Yes vario owners the top case does come off. I did hit a depression in the road (Newfoundland, Canada) which the GS absorbed easily but the top case did not. I saw it bouncing down the road like a square beach ball shedding plastic all over. It didn't open but there is a lot of damage. BMW needs to fix that......... Posted on 08/13/2007 at 20:32

Previous to that there were problems with the cases falling off and now when you look for the old number it is not available. I do not know what the differences are but it was supposed to fix the problem. You might check into it and see if BMW will buy you a new case. Just a thought.
