im selling my bmw k1200r, bikes in great shape and has 8400 miles on it and am asking 11,900 firm. i used this bike as my commuting bike so most of the miles are freeway. heres some of the many upgrades i have on the bike, its definatly not the average bimmer.

*custom matte black paint job

*motor deristriction, theres a limiter on how fast you can open up the throttle...kinda like a traction control, but not. all it really does is slow you down! pulls alot harder now.

*evoluzione race air filters,.... its a upgraded extra air filter, it now has 2 K&N style air filters like the "S" model.

*clear turn signal indicators.

*custom fender eliminator.

* laser hotcam exhaust, "powercup" style shorty pipe. pipe has three different ways you can run it, by changing out the baffels. preety cool pipe.

*dimsport rapidbike 3, its like a power commander....you can adjust really easy, right from your computer!

*reverse shift pattern option. you can switch back and forth from street to race style pattern on the shift arm.

*stomp grips

*new pirelli corsa III's

* C.C performance torue arm and dogbone plates. this chagnes the geometerey of the bike, DRAMATICALLY improving the handling for a quicker turn in.

* i had the bike dynoed before i had the dimsport on it....and it came in at 150hp at the rear wheel!....im thinkin its somewhere around 160hp now.

*also i have all stock parts and will throw in a bmw club jacket and a pit bull paddockstand.

this a bike that can do everything. its super fast, handles surprisingly well and is very comfortable.
i had it for sale awhile back, but decided to keep it. im selling now to get a 848 or k1000rs.

if you have any other questions feel free and ask....thanks

first pic is the newest one i have.

That's one of the best looking K1200Rs I've come across....

Does the bike have ABS?  and/or  ESA?

I'm assuming the bike is still under BMW warranty?  Nothing you've done has voided factory warranty?

I'm trying to figure out the gas tank?  At the bottom where it meets the seat - where one's belly hits the tank - it looks like some kind of matte finish????   What is that exactly????

Mike,Thought you'd find this. I recall when he first posted this bike a few months ago, unique and very quick. Well trecieved and a head turner for sure. How cold is Modesto in late Nov? I'm just asking........BobPS: bet it comes with an eye patch.

Now the Ducati of which he speaks is a new model for the coming year:..............

THE" 848" !!! Under 400 lbs. with around 136 HP. And the optional color of all WHITE, quite a looker indeed> Don't let Mike see one as the power to weight ratio is greater than the " 999", it is stated in the materials.

it does still have the warranty for a year and a month. non abs/esa model....didnt want to adds to much weight and the esa doesnt have the adjustabilty i wanted.

my dealer told me none of the stuff ive done would void the warranty...if he likes it, i guess its ok.everything ive done can be changed back to stock, except for the air box cut for the extra filter.

if i think your talking about the stomp grips....? thats whats on the tank. keeps you from sliding around.

and come on guys...can we not turn this into a 848 thread! hehe sheesh.

also im lowering price...10,900$ and not a penny lower! cool

Sorry about that DUC post - my bad.  I've deleted it and started a seperate thread.

I'm intrigued by the bike.  I've found a couple that I've been tempted to make an offer on but not as unique as yours.  You don't happen to have a brother in the shipping business do you???  thinking

In my book, that's a darn good price.  Three weeks ago, I might have been on a plane to see you.... but, I ended up in KY with trailer in tow...

For anyone remotely interested in a K1200R.... if you've never had the pleasure, it is an incredible bike....

Read this review and try to resist..

The epilogue of the previous review:

What follows riding a bike like the K1200R is recovery.  It’s 5:45 AM the day after returning the “R” and I’m ruined.  Back on my own VFR800, I keep attempting to restart the engine and honking the horn – the Beemer’s switchgear has corrupted me… as has every other aspect of the K1200R.  The power, oh do I miss it, I turn the VFR’s throttle and there is no electric rush of torque.  Like an addict I need a fix.

Having once referred to the K1200RS as the “Special-K” I realize that I was totally wrong.  The white-line snorting K1200R is the real road party drug, and giving it up is the hardest thing to do.  Luckily we’ve got some methadone handy – next month we’ve been hooked up… with the Ducati 999.

Methadone?  Maybe not so much…

well that sux...shoulda dropped it faster on this site i guess.

id be surprised if anyone could find a better handeling k-r out there right now than this bike, id take the pepsi challenge on that one! laughing

my bike, in its current form/setup is has a very quick turn in, yet is VERY stable. its crazy how much better it is...i have alot of time invested in that alone, getting the bike to turn-in quicker.

it sounds unbelieveable and the things lightning quick..and can for sure hang with any of the big jap. I-4's.

i do have a video of her just idling...
