Ohh....And I'm still alive,

Am struggling quite a bit but will make it someday. Not only do I have new acute stuff to deal with but the chronic old stuff also.

Went down to Engles BMW the other day and talked to my man, Adam there. He said he quit adding up boxer cup parts when it got to $11,000......... So there is one bike I won't have to sell!

My wife insists on NO MORE BIKES for me, but I think I'll get to sneak the DUC past herlaughing

Not afraid of death any more but my head problems seem to be very present at the moment. Maybe in a few years I'll be able to have another BMW again, something light weight, say under 800 cc ???confused

Thanks to everyone who once again put humpty back together again, and I hope Mike's monkey bar above his pasenger door is still tight after me hanging from it for two days thru tornado's and hydro planing 45* on I-35 !!!

The Salt of the Earth, you my friends are !!!!

Good thing I'm on medicare, cause this one got a little costly $60,000 hosp. bill and a $17,000 helocopter ride !! I've been reassured that all will be taken care of.

Just having trouble with this not riding again thing ???

But a couple of years good behavior should straight it all out?

Thanks again to all the Truly Remarkable people that I have the pleasure of calling friends ! I won't bore you with a list of injuries, but most are coming along just fine and I get my left hand cast and pins out this week.

 Welcome back JC,

Your signature line  "Only Those That Risk Going Too Far; Can Possibly Find Out How Far They Can Go !!-----I just went TOO FAR THIS TIME !!"

reminds me of this quote from the poet William Blake “The road to excess leads to the palace of wisdom….for we never know what is enough until we know what is more than enough.”

You may have discovered true wisdom this time.

I met the Budda on a back roads in TX, and wrestled to a draw !!!!

All I know now is that when death comes I will not fear its warm embrace and freedom ,finally from pain !!!

Lets just hope I get a few more years experience here before I go. Cause I haven't got this riding thing down pat yet, and I do so hate to leave things undone !

It's just going to be a few years before my wife will trust me to have one again !

Think I got a good bite on the GT from a chap in Seattle. I feel somewhat hesitant due to the great distance involved and what paperwork is what, but he's ready NOW!

I'll have to research this out a bit, but the fella hails from the ADV board. And is ready to send $$$$

JC...  that shouldn't be complicated at all.   The dude buying my DUC is sending guaranteed funds and pick up info for the bike to be shipped.  All I have to do is send title and lien release AFTER funds are processed.....and be here when truck arrives for the bike....or ride the bike to shipper.  Let me know if I can help....

Welcome home.  I realize you may not have any memory of the accident, but if you do, so many people would benefit from you sharing what you recall happening and what you have learned from it.  I realize this may be asking a lot, but if and when you ever get ready to do that I think everyone who reads this board would stand in respect and gratitude.

PS Did you know your helmet really smells bad?  Sometime I'll tell you how I know.

Welcome back JC!  Glad you are on the road to recovery.

I'd recommend that, for now at least, regardless or what your brain is thinking, you make sure your mouth is saying "Yes, dear."

I second that; reading about accidents is a way of learning.  And Bob, you are committed to the helmet story now.

Bob,

I know you sported the "Darth Look" til you recovered your own helmet, but I probly puked in it or something I'm sure. There was even a question to me if I had wet myself. Which did occur as I slid to the gas cap mounted tank bag that I took off and jammed my tail bone and created, well, lets just call it a temporary hemoroid still healing and damage to the "taint area"! A manly term, meaning that which is not jewels or rectum. The in between !!! That's all I can say about that!

As for the cause, My legal liabilities prevent me from full disclosure at this time, due to possible litigation on the condition of large boulders being to near the run off in the playground area !! but all I can say is you know when you shift your weight from one cheek, in the saddle to the other.

Occassionally sitting on that left nad will quietly but very quickly secrete enough testosterone to make one think for just a split second that he IS more then he really actually IS, and great errors in corner entry speed might, for that split second seem possible!

Which in the grand scheme of things be as a fart in a whirl wind, causing great, great, great, did I mention great judgement break downs! Specially when riding any BMW marked "S" or Replica !!

Only plan apex angles soberly and thoughtfully, and not so close to the edge of the road that.........well leaves one little choice but to exclaim, "OH DARN !! This is really goin' to hurt.

Actually it is kind of a blank to me, but Tim, if you'd care to PM me with the gorry details it might be helpful to me!!!! I am told that I got up and said I'm OK only to return to the dust from which I came??????? No recollection of that, just riding along sensing problems and waking from a peaceful slumber into a world of deep pain is about it!!

Left side broke in a nice row 10 of 12 ribs, with 7 other breaks across the front.

Dislocation of remaining 2 ribs

dislocation of and fracture of clavical

Double pnuemo-thoracs

Sever to the spleen

Separated left shoulder

broken hand, requiring surgery to install 3 pins

"Taint damage"

Broken right big toe

Getting a chest tube, Oh Joy, I can breath again!! But OUCH, that garden hose hurt going in !!!

2 days of hell coming home, hung up on Mikes monkey bar above the door of his trust worthy side winding car, like a slab of beef !!!

Many days and night still unable to lie flat, so trapped in a recliner

And a brand new apprecciation of life and the Hand of God sending an Ambulance on a trolling mission on route FM-335

I'm ALIVE

JC wink

PS: If I ever ride again, firmly apply rubber bands around testicl to prevent ANY release of toxic hormones into my system. Which is what I planned on doing this whole trip, having learned supposedly from the spankin' Pat gave me last year to just be a tourist and not some secret parent of some dude named Rossi !!!

PSS: And a promise, that if ever my services are needed for bike or personal extraction from any far distant location, I'll be there to return, in like kind the EXCELLANT service I was provided. Now I gotta go take a nap !!!

PSSS: I think the Buffalo is a goner, the guy is sending the full $$$$

PSSSS: I get to keep the DUC !!!!!

PSSSSS: That's cool!!!!

PSSSSSS:I forgot !!

Bob.... if you're gonna tell the "helmet story" you might as well tell the "BCR rescue story" while you're at it.

You know the one...

...when you were pushing and I was steering (or was it the other way around?) and the back wheel wasn't moving and we were scared there might be a junk yard dog around the corner and it was dark and we could have been shot and no one would have cared...... you know, that story!!!  shockbiggrin

The rubber bands around the testatcles is one of the funniest things I have read in years.

But not a bad idea

Maybe you ought to  market it

"Nad Bands....for that Rossi moment."

Bob

Junk yard pooch story will follow later

Congrats on the bike sale
