How About a Retro Edition R90S?

Retro styled motorcycles are gaining ground. Ducati offers the retro Paul Smart 1000, Moto Guzzi offers the California 1100 Vintage, and one of Triumph's best selling models is the Bonneville America. These bikes are classically beautiful, and they sell.

So why hasn't BMW joined the trend? I believe a retro styled R90S boxer would be a hit at retail. What say you?

Done well and they could have my coin tomorrow. I've been flirting of late but

nothing really serious. I could get serious about a well done tribute to the R90S.

I don't think i would like a carbon copy of the original as much as a a lot of high tech

stuff packaged in body work with a retro slant to it.

As an example...

Terry, I hear you. If BMW offered the R1200R platform with retro R90S styling, I'd be the first to sign up.

This bike was shown at Milan last year.

The bike shown in Milan is a nice try but too angular.

Totally... i'd like to see a slight re-think of that classic bullet styling.

maybe a slightly longer tank than the original and the proportionate fairing to go with it.

I think that bike is spot on. Angular or not, it is, as stated in the original post, seemingly the best of both worlds. Beautiful. Where do I sign?

Here's an R1100R I used to ride. The tank is better suited for a retro model R90S. If I had the bike now, I'd paint it Daytona orange and make my own retro R90S.
