Ridin' in the cool rain...

Using the R1150GS Adv today for chores I got caught in some rain.

These were basically winter conditions, although on the mild side.

My BMW pants worked as advertised, although I was slightly cool in the legs because I have no lower electric heating(gerbings).

I did not realize this until after the bike was in the barn. My legs and upper body were bone dry, but the exterior of the pants and jacket were well soaked. What a pleasure to remove wet clothing and be totally dry.

I have the Savanna 2 jacket and pants w/the Gore-Tex linings.

They are pricey, but well worth it.

Good to know, I live out here in the Pacific North Wet, and have yet to find a good set of rain gear.  Many times I have gone for rides, it started to rain while I was out, and by the time I got home, was soaked to the bone.  Even come in a few times with mild hypothermia.  Any one else out there have any suggestions for rain gear, hopefully even some at a bargain price?

I have this gear and it is excellent.  I goofed around with gear for YEARS

The real value to it for me is that it's great in all kinds of weather.  Incredible venting when it's hot and when the liners are removed.  Waterproof and warm (I still use Widder heated gear) in the cold.  I live in the mountains of Colorado and the temperature fluctuations and unpredictability of the weather can be extreme.  I have gone on rides where I go from 80 degrees in Denver to 25 degrees and snowing atop a mountain pass (no kidding).

The hi-viz jacket is so incredibly hi-viz that people sometimes put their flashers on and pull over to get out of the way when they see me coming because they assume I am some kind of emergency vehicle?
