Thinking about another trip to Montreal, and maybe from there...somewhere else in Canada....thinking Nova Scotia... So, i am hoping that those of you who have ventured there, up and around, those who live there, would be so kind as to share with me where i should go. not planning on being there long. which side of the island? any bed n breakfasts you can recommend? and of course roads.... any and all would be most appreciated.

thanks in advance..

i guess the new zumo has me thinking about getting out of ny for a lil' bit.

WE just returned from a trip that took us through New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Cape Breton Island.  You hafta, hafta, hafta ride the Cabot Trail!  Even though the weather was foggy and rainy while we were there, the scenery is spectacular and road a complete hoot to ride.  We rode to Meat Cove which is sort of where the road ends, but were disappointed at the camping accomodations, and chose to take a few pics, then move on to other camping areas that had reasonbly level sites for our tents.  Since we were camping I can't recommend lodging choices, but I'm sure they are numerous.  In my mind another "must see" is the tidal change at the Bay of Fundy . . . truly a most amazing phenomenon.  We found most secondary roads to be cracked, broken, frost heaved, and interesting to ride, but if you're from any part of New England, none of that will come as a surprise, and isn't that what our BMW's are made for?  Ride safely, and enjoy!

I agree with ibgone.  Looks like the wife and I took roughly the same route.  Avoided the ferry from Bar Harbour.  We made it to Pictou on the second night.  Stayed at Brenda's a B&B.  She was nice enough to let us park our bikes in the garage.  We stayed in Baddeck for a couple of nights.  B&B The Worn Door (I think).  Great older Scottish guy. I though Meat Cove was cool.  They recently opened up a chowder house that served dinner.  Awesome view.  We also did some time in Prince Edwards Island.  Nice people...food was so so.
