07/15/07 - Re: A BMW Chopper?
Perhaps I was a bit ahead of my time in the 60's but will this count as a chopped BMW? Everything that could come off of it was removed. Handled a bit strange, but it was a lot of fun for sure.

04/14/07 - Re: How to change the oil in your BMW R1200RT
I've got to admit that changing oil on the R1200RT is much easier (and much cleaner) than many of my older bikes for sure.
On that expensive filter wrench thing? Well, rummaging around the tool box produces a $3.00 filter strap wrench that works just fine.

The caveat here would be when making multiple runs across "All...

No, it just goes to zero but you can keep track of how far you've gone with the normal tripmeter. That's where I monitored the 45 miles from.
And it still didn't take 7 gallons!!

Ah yes, the notorious R1200RT fuel gauge.
It looks very nice. Doesn't appear to be very accurate or at least what you might think it should be telling you.
Most RT guys have either figured out that when the yellow triangle comes on, it's telling you it thinks you now have 50 miles remaining, but that's only until the tank thinks it's empty. In reality, when your "countdown" mileage shows ZERO, you've got another gallon (at ...
