ABOUT ME
Rented a GS1200 in AZ in January of this year (2007)and got hooked on the dirt. Went out and bought one when I got home. The most awsome all around riding ever. I have logged quite a few miles on HD Bagger, Utah, Arizona, Florida, Texas, Montana, Colorado…all from Omaha Nebraska and have always longed to turn off on a few of those dirt roads, but have not been able to…now I can! I like to just take off with little or no plan and see what I can discover. Sometimes I will camp out, sometimes a luxury resort, or sometimes a super 8. I work in the investment world and find riding to be one of the few activities that totally absorb my mind. I have found quite a few great rides in the flatlands around Omaha Nebraska on roads I never knew even existed. I am looking forward to a bunch of road trips this year and into the future.

Plan to leave on Thursday at 4am ride to Buena Vista to visit a friend for a few hours then continue back roads to Gunnison, and finally to Montrose and stay at the Elk Lodge Resort. Next day to Cederedge to camp with the Colorado BMW group at the rendevo ... Read more

06/04/07 - nebraska - iowa off road riding
There some great roads in the country around Omaha and surrounding communities.
I just took a ride north out of Omaha. Took a side road east that wound north right by the Blair airport and found a super part dirt part pavement road that ended up commming out near the nuclear plant south of Blair. I spent the rest of the day riding the hilltop roads back to Omaha, ended up comming out at Ft. Calhoun. Lots of trees, curves, wild life, views overlooking Missouri river...

From Omaha Nebraska to Buena Vista, back raods to Gunnison, then to Montrose stay at Elk Resort. Next day to Cederedge to camp out at BMW Colorado Club deal Friday and Sat. eat chili on Friday night and ride back roads Fri and Sat. Then see if I can make it all the way back to Omaha on Sunday. Leave on May 31st at 4AM on a GS1200. YE-HAA.
