10/24/08 - Re: Informal Group for Eastern NC
Hi Mike,
Good to hear from you. I have been talking to Robo and will definitely keep you guys in the loop. Please do the same. I'm not retired yet and vacation is scarce this time of the year, but I can get away sometimes.
Hopefully we can keep enough going on to keep folks interested in the group. I'm hoping we can make a go of it.
Ride Safe,
Frank

Well it's been a while coming, but we finally had our first meeting on Saturday the 11th of October. We had a total of 8 present and 2 with prior commitments. All in all not a bad start. We are seeing more BMW riders in our area all the time. We just need to keep getting the word out. One of the guys offered his house for the first meeting and we used his garage for a Tech Day. If there is anyone out there that would like to join us please send a private message for future meeting details.<...
05/21/08 - Re: 07 R1200RT tank bag
I bought my BMW tank bag from Chicago BMW Motorcycles website. The cost was about $50 cheaper than any other dealer I found, even with shipping. I have been buying all of my parts and accessories there. They are not fast to ship, but the prices are around 20 to 30% less than anyone else I've found. Just make sure you order well ahead of time.
04/04/08 - Scorpion EXO 1000 Helmet For Sale
This is Scorpion's Best helmet. It features a flip down sunvisor which works great. It also has the pump up adjustable cheek pads for a perfect fit. The helmet has a good vent system, both for cooling and defogging. I have had the helmet less than 6 months. I really like it , but I bought the wrong size. The helmet is an XL and I need a smaller size. I didn't take into account the wear- in factor. I plan on buying another one as soon as I sell this one. It retails for about $319.00(wi...
08/22/07 - Re: Your favorite BMW service center
I bought my bike at Morton's in Fredericksburg, Va. They are very good to deal with, but living in eastern NC I carry my bike to Capitol BMW in Raleigh for service. I have to agree that they are very accommodating folks. I have had a couple of warranty issues and they handled them without a hiccup. The only problem you might have is prying Jon away from the BSers that sometimes rudely keep him occupied while others wait to take care of business. He's too nice a guy to brush them off.
