Thanks, and I do agree completely. The cost of the suit is long forgotten after putting it through a test like that and having it perform better than expected. Since I'm already up on my soapbox, I will say that many times I jumped on my bike to run a quick errand to the market or whatever without any protective gear except my helmet. Never again. My goal here is not to sell BMW gear, but to say "buy the best stuff you can!", "and use it!"

The RP2 suit saved my skin! Literally. I crashed my buddy's brand new 800GS (the bike is totaled, more on that later) last week going very fast on a gravel road. I bounced and flipped a few times and ended up in a rocky ditch. I did break my leg, but it could have been a lot worse. Not one bit of road rash! I remember landing on my knees at point while flipping and thought it was going to be horrible. The heavy shell and the armor saved me. The suit is pretty scuffed up, but like I said I w...

The BMW side cases are meant to be water tight. I spoke with the guys at Touratech (they manufacture them for BMW) and this is their advice, "there is a small channel where the top and bottom halves meet. There is a silicone gasket in place and this make for a great seal. But, be careful when closing to be sure they are lined up properly, and that the wire retainer doesn't get closed in between" I agree with their assesment. Mine are totally water ...
