ABOUT ME

When I was in high school my parents forbid me to buy a motorcycle, which only increased how badly I wanted one. When I had saved up a few dollars washing dishes I bought an old police bike. I parked it around the corner from my house for 2 years without my parents knowing. That was in 1986, and I have been riding on and off-road ever since.

08/14/08 - Bombars Beemers

I went over to Bombars Beemers last night to work on my bike. Not only is Peter Bombar my mechanic but he's a good friend and my personal guru on everything BMW. I love that his shop is in his home garage, that he takes his time, and is meticulous about hi ... Read more

08/11/08 - Dust2Glory Syndrome

How many of you have dreamt about soloing the Baja 1000 after seeing Dust2Glory? Having grown up on bikes, watched countless motorcycle films, participated in several dual sport rides, a Neduro clinic, and a race or two, I thought I was ready to solo t ... Read more

08/10/08 - GS Trophy - Tunisia

When I got the email below I didn't expect to see my name on the short list. I know there are plenty of BMW riders with more racing experience. Good thing for me we are not being judged on our racing resume alone. The criteria they are using to choose ... Read more

08/30/08 - Re: Spartanburg Trials...

Congrats to Jason, Jim, and Brad! We are all very proud, and a little envious. We will be cheering you on while you are in Tunisia. I'd love to hear more about the trials. I'm sure it was much more difficult then it looked on the local television coverage.

Is there any way to track the teams during the challenge?

Are there any more details on the challenge, such as distance, time, will you all ride together or is it a relay, etc.?

08/15/08 - Re: iCard

Utah is one of my favorite places. When I lived in Colorado I went to Canyonlands and Moab every chance I got, mosty off-roading in my 4-Runner and on my mountain bike.

I finally got around to posting some video I shot in Baja.

This is a rough cut. I have a lot more footage that I hope to edit together in a more interesting way. I was having a lot of problems last night uploading video to Youtube so I tried Viddler.com, wh...

If they do put us through the same tests as the Japanese team there will probably be an advantage for those riders who have more experience on the big beasts:

I love all of you guys. And I made a promise to myself that if I get chosen for Team USA I will return the framed picture of W to the national guard in WV.

I vote for Jason as well. Anyone that can ride a 15 year old R100 GSPD like he does would kick ass on the F800 GS. And I want to hang with him in Tunisia.
