ABOUT ME
I’m Andrew Phillips. I have been a BMW enthusiast since I first saw a K100 at university…a while ago! I have been riding motorcycles since I was 17. At that time, I sold my car to buy a bike from my cousin. It was a Yamaha XS400. I still remember one Sunday when I came upon a couple of friends who were gathering for a ride. That was my first group ride in the Spring of 1984. Since then, I think I’ve had 15 bikes. Most of them BMWs. My first BMW was an ‘87 K100…which was later traded in for a 2002 RT1150. I took that RT over to Seattle from New Hampshire on a solo trip to visit my college buddy, Rick. I had done some smaller rides before, but this Seattle trip was my first huge ride and I loved it. When a couple work buddies got GS-Adventures, I had to get one. The fun we’ve had on these bikes and the places we’ve gone! The rides to Glacier National Park, the Blue Ridge, Nova Scotia, Gaspe, Labrador and Northern Quebec were all amazing rides with really great people. Only BMW makes a bike that can do these things really well. I wouldn’t ride anything else. Now, BMW is my only choice for a rally-moto bike. I had considered other bikes for a rally machine, but then came to my senses and called over to MAX’s to see what he had. I’ve been riding with MAX BMW’s rally moto team for a few events now. It’s all been like a childhood dream come true. I get to go racing!!! Motorcycles will remain a great passion of mine for a long, long time to come.

08/08/08 - GS TROPHY!!!!

08/11/08 - Re: BMW International GS Trophy!!!
I see I'm not the only one really, REALLY, excited about this event. I can't think about much else.
6 of us will go to South Carolina.
3 of us will go to Tunisia. TUNISIA!!!!!!
Wow...I don't envy they guys at BMW that have to make the decision on who gets to go. The list of 20 seems like all great riders that would make them proud. They should take all 20 to Tunisia. Let's have 100 BMW riders over there!
