06/27/07 - Immobilizer EWS failure leaves you stranded
As much as I love my 1200GS, I find the failure of the EWS immobilizer antenna ring around the key hole a troubling feature. Without advance warning or symptoms, the next time you try to start your bike, you get the EWS! fault on your LCD display and that's the end of your ride. It has happened too many times to riders I know or ride with that I wish BMW would offer us the option of disabling the immobilizer all together. RA's OTL magazine says the German magazine Motorrad has the above sketch on its cover is speculating that an inline 6 cylinder (a BMW automotive tradition) with a displacement of 1850 cc is a possibility...
The new K1200 engine would be plenty powerful and smooth to motivate a new LT.

My 12GS converted to GS ADV... Been riding for a long time and have always owned BMW bikes. I thought I'd Xplor this forum and see how else is here! Shiva you sure get around!!
