Felicidades, start with a smaller and less expensive bike. My story. I bought an 1100 R (Roadster), let it sit at the deale's show room floor for one month until i learned how to ride. Bought a second 250 cc Yamaha after failing the weekend MSF course. Passed my DMV on my first try.
Now i have two BM's: both '04, Boxercup and Roadster. The big twins are heavy and tall but are very forgiving and very sturdy bikes too. i do not regret what I did becuase i knew i wan...

Pat, riding in the wind is very draining and tiring. The "Windy City" takes it toll by blowing people into oncomming lanes. I can empethize with your ride. Thanks for reminding us of hazards that come out of the blue. Nice pictures too.
I like your mix of narrative with photos, makes dyslexics read more often.

I'd like to go but I started my own company two years ago and i am booked solid until June. My hours are longer and i do everything from cleaning, accounting, to the acutal delivery of my final product. My salary is almost to where it was when I left the college, but alas I have no vacation time built in, maybe next year.
This summer i am going around the Lake Michigan, Toronto, Canada, and maybe Dragon's Tail. maybe even the National Rally.
