I like my Vario sidecases, but they are rather delicate in regards to the aluminum panels.  They dent easily, but that just leaves a good place for stickers.  I like the expanding capability very much.  But if you need toughness go aftermarket.  Everything I have gotten from Touratech has been great, but not cheap.  Watch eBay.

I believe it may also help keep crap (mud and stones) out of the oil cooler as well as direct air at it.  I like how it looks and actually added the black extender to it for a smoother look.  If some one would like the look without it, you might try looking at the R1200R.  Similar motor and drivetrain and more street oriented.  The design on the GS is also to keep some dirt-bike oriented roots.

Are there ant "Born Again" poster prizes?  Like someone who hasn't posted for 6 months and then remembers that huge part of his life he had been missing.  LOL

Or one for the next person to get a new bike?  I can see some more possibilities.  Very nice idea.  We all have some crap (to us) laying around that would make nice prizes.
