Well, took the plung and bought a well used/ well looked after 99 R11S.

Ridden her into work two days now (80-100 miles/day). 

All I can say is shes allot heavier than she looks.

She goes much quicker than the F Ever thought of going 'specially on the highway...

Braking is incredible.

Hard bags...I never knew what I was missing...

Funny this topic came up.

I had an 05 FGS which I put about 20,000 miles on in ~2 years.

Then picked up an X Challange in the late summer of 08. Put about 6,000 miles on that one.

Sold the X to a fellow that frequents these boards but left me to think about what to get.

Tomorrow I'm testing out a 99 R11S. 50K on the Odo, well looked after by a fellow MOA'er from NYC.

Actually thats not a bad idea... I actually really like the simplicity, reliability and lack of mass - of this bike... I've just figured that now that I'm stuck 2 hours a day on the road commuting, I might as well have a bike that is better suited for it... Well the new J.O.B. has got me on the highway a solid 80+ miles / day.

Gone are the days of "B" roads to work every morning...

Yah Yah, I know..."Commuting on a XCh ?!?!"

At 64 MPG I was not complaining at all this past year...And believe it or not, it was a blast!
