Since you're planning for next year, there's a lot in the area. My favorite is the loop from Cortez/Dolores, Telluride, Ridgeway, Ouray, Silverton, Durango and back. But a trip up to Moab and around all that area is great too. The loop above takes you over high mountains and can be chilly, cold, even snowy if too early in the season. A fabulous area. We discovered Bandera last year and just left after spending a month there. Stopped in our RV just to spend as many days as possible riding. While there, were visited by a lady rider friend on her FJR and (she is a good rider!). We took her on the loop from Bandera tthrough Tarpley, to Leakey and back past Medina.
