Hey Madhatter, I agree you will be in the lower gears more often. I only started doing this after going to the race track, changed my perspective on a lot of things. I would also have second thoughts about doing that to the RT. The Dakar or GS 650 motor is really well suited to be pinned all the time. I also have a K1200R and an R6 which I keep on the high side most of the time unless I want to cruise. As far as wear and tear, I suggest haveing a few motorcy...

That is some gas mileage. I imagine to get that gas mileage you aren't going above 4000 RPM. I get about 60 MPG when I first got the Dakar. Now I take the RPM all the up all and sacrificing gas mileage . There is a line right above 4000 when the Dakar can move quicker. I also find that top speed is 105 miles per hour with the throttle pinned. I am a believer of pinning the throttle all the time, guess that is what happens after you take one of those track sc...

The K1200R is a sexy beast of a bike. Maybe the wife was
intimidated? I get lots of compliments on the K, more when I wear
my track suit with the boots. I can see them staring through car
windows.
