Team Max Practice Day
TJ, Andrew, Max & I had a blast chasing each other around while “practicing” for The Black River Stages, our next and final RallyMoto event of the 2008 season.

Pikes Peak Quick Summary
Clearly, I wasn’t able to keep up the blog posts during race week. We had to get up each day to be on The Mountain before sun-up so that practice could be maximized during the short time alotted between Sunrise and 8:30 AM. We generally got 6-8 runs in each day. During these practice days, the cool, early morning air and overnight showers left the gravel sections with a lot of traction. Pikes Peak International Hillclimb Day 3
1st Day of practice on The Mountain has us up before dawn. We left the hotel at 4AM to get to the starting line in the lower section of the course. We all found the conditions challenging and after several runs, we were given the signal that our last run would be our qualifying run for Race Day.

Pikes Peak International Hillclimb Day 2
Doug & I have registered this morning and are looking forward to the days events. We’ve met the Ducati Team and seen some of the serious equipment arriving for the race. We’re still waiting for Max and Ben to arrive – something about Kansas never ending – so we’ll probably see the bikes mid-day and get them through the tech inspection then

Black River Stages RallyMoto
Anyway, it feels great to be home. I was beginning to wonder if I’d have to visit detox from all the adrenaline I’ve been living on for the past several days surrounding the Black River Stages Rally in Harrisville, NY. We arrived Thursday afternoon after a 6.5 hour drive to our hotel in Lowville. I had brought along a brand new set of knobby tires and there was a motorcycle dealership close to the hotel. My thought was to try to get them installed Friday morning for the race on Saturday, ...
