ABOUT ME
Born in the thin air of Colorado… at 10200ft up… I started riding BMW GSs in Australia in 2000… Irode across the outback desert roads solo and since then have not looked back… I even dealt with a lost clutch 200 kms from the nearest “town” in the middle of nowhere and rode the cycle in with too many worries…well after the frist 5-10 minutes of figuring out what to do while riding with no clutch…In 2008 after starting in 2003 finished all the major dirt hwys in the great land of the North from Prudhoe Bay to Goose Bay… Even ended up on the Dalton Hwy in an Ice storm on one of the trips up it. Three times across the Artic Circle on a motorcycle to date… I have a habit to end up alway riding across remote areas in nasty weather for some reason.. :-) I even hae done 650 miles of dirt roads once in 14 hours only ending up with three nails in the rear tire… go figure…I got bored with the paved versions of the IBA rides so when out on the dirt… i have complete too many 1000 miles days (dont even record them)... offically a BB1500, and SS2000…Currently working on getting my 200,000 mile award on a BMW cycle i nthe next few months, and in 2009 summer will be riding even more dirt on the GS
Outbackufo has not created any rides yet.

11/16/08 - Grand Junction, CO OHV area part II
Had a slight break in the wintery weather on Wendsday... so off to Grand Junction and the OHV area north of town again. this time i went and explored the dirt bike/atv tracks due north of the airport... i got way out to the book cliffs and cound a great training area of hill climbs and quite techincall stuff... i really need to find someone to ride out there with so i can really take the GS on some more technical stuff... it is a safety thing... you are 5-10 miles out from the nearest hel...
11/10/08 - Just west of town
I had not gotten out much the last two weeks, one, i had to head to denver to pick up my R1200ST from the dealer from a front shock replacement on week so there went my riding day, then the weather has started to get more winter like up at the higher elevations... so besides riding to work to wake up i nthe 25F temps for 10 miles riding has been limited with work also. I did get out last week before 14 inches of the white fluffy stuff fell above 9000ft and 3 inches down to 5000.... ...
10/18/08 - Rabbit Valley, Western Colorado exit 2
Got out for a few hours to just west of Grand Junction off exit 2 of I70... Rabbit Valley area... a lot of good trails that runs along the north edge the Colorado River down to an old area called Westwater. The road is a big mix from hard packed clay to some short sections of soft sand and some rocky ledges. I did have a oops to day
