ABOUT ME
I’m Steve, and my life centers around my wife, my bike, and my parrots (not always in that order.) I bought my new ‘LT in August ‘06, and put 37,000 miles on her in the first year. I use her for year ‘round commuting; in any weather but ice. I enjoy day trips with the bride, and an occassional overnighter. Life is good for a rider here in The Natural State of Arkansas. It’s motorcycle-friendly, and the mountains offer countless twisties. RIDE MORE. TYPE LESS. —-Steve

That's called a Fort Worth Rack. I've not seen many, but it's a thing of beauty.

There is a KLR modified to run on diesel. Wonder if one could modify one of those to run on used doughnut oil.

03/16/08 - Re: K1200LT Seats
I have the same bike, purchased new in August of 2006. The "Comfort Seat" comes standard on that model, and it is anything but comfortable when new. Now she has 54,000 miles on the clock. The saddle began to break-in and soften after 20 or 30 thousand miles. It's still plenty firm, but quite comfortable even after 300+ mile days.

03/16/08 - Re: City man allegedly doing wheelie, then hit truck
Why blame TV, the wheelie, or the victim? The fault here lies squarely with the truck driver. To look and not see is negligence. To miss something as big as a motorcycle and rider, and defend oneself stating that the 5" light was misdirected... that's just sad. The whole situation is just sad. What strikes me as worse is that we're falling into that worn fable that bikes are invisible.&...
