ABOUT ME

I have been getting paid to ride a black and white RT with red and blue lights for past 20 years. You probably have seen me in your mirrors..lol

My wife and I go everywhere on our RT! Riding is a way life for me and I can’t imagine doing it on anything other that a BMW. I always enjoy the people on XPLOR. Lots of experience, good advice and interesting rides to read about.

We just ordered my wife a new 07 GS650 that she should have in a month, so I need to make more room in the garage!

Ride safe!

10/30/08 - Re: Metzler M3's vs. Conti Road Attacks on a 1200RT

Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking I meant Z6's in my original message. I too have heard that the M3's are not recommended. I believe the easiest way to know is whether or not the specific tire has a RT "fitment code" listed in the catalog. I could be wrong.

10/26/08 - Metzler M3's vs. Conti Road Attacks on a 1200RT

I just mounted my 3rd set of Conti Road Attacks on my RT and I am already starting research on a new brand for next time. I hear nothing but good reviews on the M3's but those reviews come from mostly sport bike riders. I was curious if there is any RT owners out there who run both M3's and Conti's what their opinions are between the two.

08/29/08 - Re: US Hwy 50 or I-80?????

Returned safely from the trip! Took the 50 and you guys were all correct. It was a nice ride. The most amazing thing however was that the temp. never got warmer than 88!! Afetr all was said and done, 1935 safe and hassle free miles! The US89 south out of South Fork Utah is a road I highly recommend!

08/13/08 - 100 Octane Gas

There is an Allied gas station in my city that sells 100 octane "Trick" race fuel at the pump. I have used it before in my MX bikes but was curious what it would do in my RT. Have any of you tried it before in a fuel injected bike? Not that I would want to run it in replacement of 91 octane, especially at $7 per gallon, but would a gallon or two cause me problems? Would there even be a noticeable difference in a fuel injected motor like I notice in my carburated MX bikes?

After doing a little more research, I think it might be worth staying the night in Carson City before heading across in order to enjoy the scenery and enjoy it while I'm fresh rather than at the end of a 15 to 17 hour day.
