BMW R 1200 S Wins In Debut Race! MRA 4/29

BMW R 1200 S Wins Supertwins GTO!

WOW! I am still so pumped up from the weekend! Sunday, the 29th of May was my first race on the new R 1200 S, and it was an amazing success. I started last row and worked my way into second place by the last lap. The leader had a huge gap on me, but I put my head down and managed to catch up to his rear tire. Just as quickly, with three corners left, I put a pass on him and won! Even more impressive, my competition incuded 2 Ducati 999s, an Aprillia Mille, and the pass for the lead on a new Ducati 1098 S! The R 1200 S may not have had all the ponies down the front straight, but the stability and power of the brakes working in conjunction with the telelever front end proved unstoppable! The stability of the chasis coupled with the torque of the boxer motor allowed me to drive through and out of the corners even harder than my competition!

I need to thank BMW Motorrad North America and Foothills BMW for giving me the chance to race this machine. I LOVE the boxer twin, and am very happy to be racing one again (I raced an R 11 S in the Boxer Cup race at Daytona 2004). A very special thanks to my Dad and Mom for their support.
