05/06/08 - Racing as a 37 year old Rookie (med. read)
Well it all started back in 2006 when I got the bug to race. I have raced cages in the past but this was different. My real good friend and Jeepin buddy Bobby Wooldridge Jr. invited my wife and I to Roebling Road to see this guy Nate (N8) Kern race the new R1200s, (it was so new that he had cardboard and duck tape for a front number plate). CMP Carolina Motorsports Park, in Kershaw SC. He had one heck of a race weekend. His first race on saturday was a bear. We out for the warm up lap and the heavens opened up with rain. They gave me 7 minutes to mount his rain shoes and torque everything down. Thanks Gary, Wayne and my wife Cheryl for the smooth rain shoe install.
He will be racing @ Barber this weekend with AMA.
