BMW GS Trophy Tunisia

Okay….Here goes my first try at a blog….

I was selected as one of 20 finalists fighting for 3 spots to go and race in BMW’s GS Trophy Tunisia event.

The next step in the process is getting my friends and colleages to recommend me.

Please take a moment and show your support. I’m taking this very seriously.

I have the time, skills, and passion to complete this…I just need your reference to help get me to the next step.

Any help would be graciously appreciated…Thanks in advance for your time.

Christian Giordano aka Chris or toofast4uu

Chris – You would be an excellent asset to the US GS Trophy team! I rode with you on several long and enduring days in the deep sand of the Pine Barrons and am confident that you have the skill, stamina and determination to successfully navigate a GS800 through the Tunisia desert and bring the trophy home!

Aug 11, 2008 - Chris

I've only had the pleasure of riding with you once, at Xplor Blue Ridge, but I had a great time- and you have a keen eye for keeping a group together, and obvious skill underneath a humble demeanor. GS trophy or not, I look forward to the next time you can teach me some things. -Jason

Hey Chris, Riding with you in the muddy hills of Hancock, NY this past weekend during ‘08 Quarry Run, proved to me again that you’re a “natural” - with true talent and amazing ability to adapt to various conditions. Besides your skill; your drive, focus and determination would make you the perfect candidate for the Trophy Team. I look forward to our next ride. Eugene

Aug 11, 2008 - Rally Tunisia!!!

Chris, I know you’ve got the ridding ability, speed and experience to tackle Africa. Hey, if you can tackle NJ’s traffic, rocky Appalachian Mountains and deep sandy Pine Barrens on a bike you can ride anywhere! You’d be very good leading a team of riders through the desert. I know you’d make that f800 and rally suite look really good too! Good luck on making the team. I really hope this 1st blog of yours takes off!

Aug 11, 2008 - the best

Chris is perfect for Tunisia. Not only does he have the talent, but also, he's one of the best spokespersons for the sport of off rode riding, especially with BMWs. Last winter, I picked up the phone and asked Chris for some company. This is what he looked like during the ride: http://homepage.mac.com/docgonzo/.Pictures/Photo%20Album%20Pictures/2008-02-11%2004.41.41%20-0800/Image-37B0FB26D89E11DC.jpg Just cut and paste the link to view, since this software doesn't seem to allow imbedded photos.

Aug 12, 2008 - No question

Chris, there's no question you are the man for the job. I think anyone would be not only happy, but excited, to have you as part of the team for this. The sands of south Jersey would seem the perfect prep for this, and you have that nailed! -- Jason

Aug 12, 2008 - Congrats !!!

Chris, I have ridden with you on a few BMW Xplor events. Pine Barrens, Blueridge and I think you were at the BMW PC last year. Well, anyway, It's great that you were selected for this round and I'm positive you have what BMW is looking for. You have the great attitude, riding expertise, and personality that is necessary to spread the positive image of the BMW brand. I was on the Dakar in Va. when you were sweeping the advanced ride. I washed out my front wheel and went down . You were right behind me and before you stopped your bike , you were telling me to wait and let you help. Much appreciated !! You did a great job sweeping that day. I'm confident that you'd put 100% into this event and would have a great time doing it. You've always expressed the camaraderie and team spirit that is exemplified when wearing BMW on your bike. I remember at the Pine Barrens last year, BMW loaned you a 650 X, and you were extremely excited about it. You raved about the handling, suspension, and ease of control compared to other bikes you'd ridden in the past. I think you're a BMW rider for life. An addiction I also suffer from and quite frankly, don't care to be cured of. I hope you get the votes you need to get to Tunisia. Best of luck to you . Ride On !! John PS I made a dvd of xplor BR if you'd like a copy, send me your address in a PM @ B2H.

Aug 13, 2008 - Chris is so deserving.......

...........and committed to this endeavour. By making the time for it away from work, to the personal challenge of riding a motorcycle in a foreign country, there is no one more deserving. I hope he gets the nod and makes all of us proud. GO CHRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! deerslayR

I am the big fan of two young and gifted riders in this community, Christ the "Toofas4uu" and Jason "the Stagehand". I rode with them in all Xplor events and many rides at NE section of ADV rider event in previous years. Chris is the guy definitely I want to see in Tunisia, representing all of us, we BMW enthusiast and XPLOR-ADVrider community, more than that the US of A in the GS event. I'm 100% sure Chris and Jason would easily roosted up the Tunisian desert, and back whith "the" #1 Trophy! Godspeed Christian!

Aug 14, 2008 - Chris would make a fine addition for Team USA...

I'd like to declare that Christian would make an excellent addition to Team USA for the Tunisia event! I've had the pleasure of riding with Christian for over two years; within this period I've seen him develop into an accomplished rally/enduro rider. He clearly has demonstrated that he has the drive and perseverance to finish an event of this magnitude. In addition to Chris's riding abilities, I'd like to point out that he is extremely professional in his actions “on and off the track”. He clearly processes the people skills that would allow him to bond within a group. I've seen him accomplish this first hand at our annual enduro. Please consider Christian, there is no one more deserving! Dave Nash President Motorcycle Competition Inc.
