ABOUT ME

Hello, My name is Neil. I am new to the BMW Family. I have had Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda and Harley Davidson Motorcycles and I couldn’t be more pleased with my new 07 K1200GT. I chose the inline 4 because I am 6’ 10” and the boxer motor cylinders hit my legs and the flair of the tanks were not comfortable. I live in Sonoma California where we have some great rides, the last bike I had was a HD Road King and my wife and I put 30,000 miles on it in less than 3 years. I look forward to doing the same on my BMW

Yet other parts of the canyons were clear and pleasant.

Okay, they weren't entirely pleasant...

Steven,

How was the wind situation? Have the Santa Ana Winds started yet? We'll be heading to the Sierra this weekend for the last run over the passes before winter. I'll try and post pictures upon our return.

I bought my 07 K1200GT a year ago in March and I'm just coming up to 43,000 miles, mostly with my wife on the back and the 3 hard bags full to the brim. When this one wears out, I will get another. I also like the way you wash it, my Road King didn't like water in certain areas.

09/11/08 - Re: Lodging in Napa and Sonoma Valleys

Hey BlitzBernie,

The cheapest hotels in the Sonoma Valley will either be the Sonoma Valley Inn Best Western or the El Dorado Hotel. Both places are located on Highway 12 or West Napa St. but the Best Western is one block from the Sonoma City Square. These will be the cheapest but there is no cheap lodging in either Valleys. Sonoma Valley is just about 12 miles from Napa but the Napa Valley extends to Calistoga which is about 25 miles to the north. B&B's are nice bu...
