ABOUT ME

I have been riding for a long time. I started on enduro bikes. I love to go on adventure rides. I often ride by myself. I prefer riding in the woods on trails. Since that is not very practical, I bought a Honda VTX 1300C cruiser. I still enjoy the adventure. I go on back roads based on rides I plan chosen from on line maps. This is still an adventure since sometimes the road turn out pretty rough (see my Gallery Rough Riding which shows the best parts of the road/trail). I went on that ride on the VTX. Boy could I have used a dirt bike! Since a K1200GT is a better match for the type of riding I do now, I bought a 2007 model. This is my first BMW. This bike is amazing! Even WOW does not do it justice. It makes my Dodge Hemi Magnum seem slow and that is hard to do. I live 65 miles from Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. I do a lot of riding there and west into West Virginia. I love riding in the mountains on twisty roads.

12/04/08 - Re: Change in attitude

I glad I am not the only one! To add to what you said, I feel that the speed limits and no passing zones are total inappropriate for fast motorcycles and our attitudes!!! You can not explain that to a judge, however!!!

11/16/08 - Re: Fall Colors

I know it is a lame excluse, but my camera was acting up. My wife actually ask me to go get some fall color pictures. I planned and executed a mid October mountain camping trip to fullfill her request. The leaves were great. The ride was great and the colors were beautiful when I could see it (it was raining and foggy). Much to my surprise, the camera would not work I thought it was due to the cold. But it was not. So I bought a new camera. Good excuse to go for another leaf run.
