ABOUT ME
I fell in love with motorcycles the day my father brought home a 1971 Suzuki TS125 “Duster”. I was 14. My brothers and I rode that bike into the ground! At 16, I bought a real street bike…a Honda CL350 scrambler. What a machine! Other dirt and street bikes followed over the next few years, all providing me with fun and adventure. Growing up in eastern Ohio, coal country, we had many strip mines to hone our off-road skills. After college, settling into a job, and family, I took a ten year layoff from motorcycling. at age 38, I got back in with a Kawasaki KLX650 dual sport. Great bike! My first BMW was a used 1998 R110R/75th anniversary. A K1200RS followed that and I now ride a 2002 R1150GS with many mods. My buds and I spend a lot of time riding in S.E. Ohio and West Virginia. We’ve done a couple of trips to the “Dragon Tail” in the Smokies as well. My goal is to get out west. Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming are calling my name. Maybe someday?

I've got one. I have used it for two years now. No problems. I use it for passenger intercom, bike to bike communication with a Midland FRS radio, and my ipod with it for music. The only suprise I've found is when someone talks to me via the radio from another bike, my pillion rider, who I converse with via the intercom, cannot hear the ouside conversation? Strange. I do have the older model and it is the Starcomm 1, the base model not the "advanced"...
02/15/07 - My two cents
I had a wind buffeting problem on my 1150GS. It was due to the shield being so far away from my helmet, I think? I tried several shields: stock, cut down stock, Z-Teknic, and Givi. I still had buffiting. Eventually I settled on a pair of Tobinators with the Givi shield. The Tobinators give you almost unlimited adjustability and raise the shield up allowing air underneath. This really smoothed it out for me. Now I ride, faceshield up sometimes, in smooth ai...

Thanks Rickyj. I was aware of webbikeworld but didn't realize they had reviewed the Multitech. They did a pretty nice job of it, as always. I found it helpful.....just have to start saving my pennies!

Does anybody have the new Shoie "Multitech" flip up? I like my old RF800 but would like a modular. I find them priced at $435. Just wondered if anybody had any experience with one.
