ABOUT ME
My name is Charlie Neeley. I have been riding since I was 3 years-old and I still feel as close to Zen as I suppose one can feel each time I throw a leg over. In 2007 I started Dark Horse Motorsports. We do product R&D (mainly gear) on a contract basis, motorcycle building (nothing custom-cruiser, just making fast bikes faster and enduro set-ups) and scouting rides / organization for a few clients who want off-beat long-distance tour rides. There is also the occasional event in which I try to participate . I went to the Bonneville Salt Flats with BMW Xplor in September 2007 and had a blast. Along with my trusty ‘06 R1200GS, I took a couple of other speciality bikes, including a Suzuki GSX-R600 that I road race. With a little wrenching, the Suzuki broke a 29 year-old record (AMA) by 10 MPH ! I did not expect to do that and was very happy about breaking a record. I was also interviewed on the Speed Channel show, “Super Bikes”. That spot was proof to my friends and family that I was not really in Las Vegas living it up.
