ABOUT ME

I’m 40 years old and live in Santa Margarita, Ca. with my wife, Melissa, and 3 year old son, Kurtis. Riding motorcycles has become a way of life for me since I was 8 years old. I currently own three bikes but I choose the GS about 95% of the time. My other bikes are a Yamaha YZF1000 and YZ400F. I never take a car or truck anywhere unless I absolutely have to!

I am very fortunate to live in an area that has a wide variety of riding opportunities. My daily commute to work takes me from Santa Margarita through Creston to Paso Robles via Hwy 229. There are also miles of dirt roads within 15 minutes of my front door that lead to State OHV parks and mountain passes with beautiful views of the central coast. I’ve been a Motor Officer for 4 years and an MSF Rider Coach for 3 years.

If you plan to be in my area, send me a note. If my schedule allows, I’d be willing to be your ambassador to the central coast, or I could just recommend some of my favorite rides to you.

See you on (or off) the road!

08/08/08 - The road to Tunisia...

I learned to ride motorcycles at age 8, starting on small dirt bikes and spending many hours riding trails and sand dunes either alone or with friends during my adolescence. Over the next 32 years I logged thousands of hours riding the streets, trails, san ... Read more

08/25/08 - Re: BMW International GS Trophy!!!

Hey Spartanburg 6, and everyone else tuning in. Well, it's getting very close to the competition in S. Carolina. As a competitor, I'm getting very excited and a little anxious about the task ahead, but I'm also looking forward to meeting the other competitors and having a great time, regardless of how the competition shakes out.

I had the opportunity to do some training during the Dog Days of Summer rally this past weekend in Bridgeport, Ca. It was put on by View thread

I hit the "send" button yesterday. Yep, I've been begging, pleading and bribing all my friends and family to hit the blog also. I don't know too many on the list, but I've been "paying it forward" to those I do know, just to keep the good will flowing and foster some team USA spirit!

Good luck to us all!

08/09/08 - Re: US Hwy 50 or I-80?????

Here's another vote for 50. If you're feeling really adventurous and have plenty of time, you might want to try Hwy 49. It's a narrow, twisty two-lane road through the hills and canyons.
