Tire change, and a surprise

So I got a new set of tires for my 650GS last week, and on Sunday I set out to install them. What a major pain it was breaking the bead on the rear! I spent about three hours on just the back tire alone, and had to stop the job halfway through on the front. I finished the front on Monday, but I’m still not riding the bike yet… Because my countershaft sprocket is held on by a nut that’s supposed to be torqued to 100 Nm, but is instead finger-tight!

Today I’ll have to break out a cold chisel, flatten the lock-washer, apply some loctite, re-torque the nut, and lock it all back into place.

THEN I can see how these new Mefo 99 Explorers handle.
