09/28/07 - what to do with a salvage k1200rs?

Hi, i rear-ended my 2002 k1200rs into a car (mazda protege).

the front suspension broke in half.  cost to repair is 8-12k insurance said it's totaled. they say i can keep the bike for 3k.  

 

is it possible to get some money out of it by getting what's left from the bike and selling it for used parts? if yes then an advice will be appreciated.

i just crashed on sat, rear-ended a car because i was enjoying a view of a lake on the left and was sure there was no cars infront of me. well there was, right around a turn, and it was standing still. on guard at all times!!! and i do 22k a year on a bike

thanks to everyone for the replies. i guess if i'll go for a long journey in deserted places i'll have to carry a spare one with me.
