03/03/08 - Jessee bags and Remus exhaust on a GS Dakar?
I posted this on F650.com and ADVrider, but have not had a reply about it yet. Maybe someone here can help out?
I have an 03 Dakar with Jessee bags on
it. I am thinking about putting a Remus exhaust on, but I am not sure if
it would fit with the Jessee mounting bracket?
Does anyone
have this combo on their bikes? I contacted both of the manufacturers
and neither one could tell me yes or no.

I am a motorcycle safety instructor also. Yes, it does seem to be the norm (big heavy bikes and no experience). Most of the students we get already have new bikes sitting in the garage when they come to the class. A lot of them can't even handle the little 125cc training bikes at the range. I usually try to persuade these students to buy a much smaller used bike to get some experience on. I ask them, "Would you like to learn on a big heavy expensive bike that will...
04/24/07 - Re: Bubbles in Oil
I have on 03 Dakar and there has always been some bubbles in the oil after shut down. I am not talking head on a beer type bubbles, just some bubbles. I never associated it with running hot, but that may be? I figured it was probably because the oil tank is so much above the engine, that it just got aerated a little on its way back? It never bothered me enough to ask the dealer, but you can if it is a big concern? I have noticed it seems to have more bubbles a...

I don't know about any websites to check and I have tried to contact BMW about my one of my bikes in the past with no reply. Your best bet is to contact your local dealer and ask them to look up your VIN to see if there are any open campaigns on the bike. They usually do this when you take it in for service but, if you are like me and do the service yourself, they would probably help you out. I have asked numerous questions at my local dealer and have gotten plenty of help, even technical ques...
04/11/07 - Re: Better windscreens for the R1200GS
Last week I was looking at the 1200GS and the new Adeventurer side by side at my local dealer. It looked like the wind screen on the Adventurer would convert easily to the regular GS. You would need to check with your local dealer. The only difference appeared to be the brace on the Adventurer screen, which should just bolt on to the GS. You could probably buy the lowers and drill a few holes or use double-sided tape to hold them on.
