Davenport, CA
103 degrees Fahrenheit today in the Bay Area but cooler at the coast. Last Sunday I rode to Davenport via Big Basin Redwoods State Park. Nice and cool and so beautiful you will ride slow to take it all in, despite all the speed racers on Skyline & Rte. 9!!!

2008 July CA-CO
2500 mile Whirlwind Trip from the Bay Area to the Colorado Mountains and back. 3 days each way on my R1200R. Hot High Desert, rock towers close enough to touch, the smell of sage, mirage in my helmet. Route 120 from 6 (NV) thru Yosemite such a prize, though the national park we love is full of smoke from the northern cali fires, like a sci-fi movie. Thinking an R1200 RT might be a better ride for those trips over 200 miles!

Los Osos
Whoo whoo, was it windy last weekend? coming back home on Route 1 from Los Osos / Morrow Bay was wild. And there were more motorcycles on the road than cars! How cool is that? The wind was coming from the northwest so heading back to the Bay Area was interesting, especially on some of the bridges. Birds heading into the wind were working to just stay in place. I bought a ComfortShell jacket before the trip and was very greatful it worked as promised. It was interesting to meet a couple Harley guys on ...

president's day weekend
A little cool but we’ll take it! Finally got to go up to Mount Hamilton. That road is tough on the bones with lots of bumps and dips and I think I hit every reflective road marker on the double yellow line, but the scenery is great and the turns are fun. Another day I rode to Big Basin and had to stop to look up at the trees (and warm up.)
