ABOUT ME
I am a musician and music teacher living in Westchester County, NY.
I have owned two BMW’s. I had an F 650 for a year. Not long, considering how much I liked the bike; the R1200 GS is a dream bike that felt a little too big for me when I bought the 650. After riding it a year, I was ready and the GS was too much to resist. I love everything about it.
After a long day or a long week, there is nothing better than a long ride.
I am always hoping for those moments on a ride where I see something I have never seen before or go somewhere new and just say… “wow!”.
And I am always grateful to get back home.

Happy Birthday Terry!
Spring is here in New York and I know that the warm breezes of the new season are making their way up to the north country. Here's wishing you a great year with your family and your bikes and some great riding days ahead.

Kmkkoz,
Your bike looks great! I have a 2007 GS as
well and my question is:
How is that Corbin
seat?? When I ride for an hour or two the stock seat does fine for
me;I rode the bike to Nova Scotia last summer and the seat
started to really bother me aftera day of riding. Have been
thinking about an after market seat, and the Corbin looks
good.

Kevin,
Thanks so much; those are excellent tips. I
have never removed the battery on the GS, but it couldn't be too
hard. When you say that you charge the battery indoors , I guess that
you do not mean that you have it hooked up to a battery tender? Either
way, it seems like a good idea to get the battey off the bike and out of
the cold.
Thanks!

12/07/07 - How hard is cold storage on your bike?
Hi everybody,
I bought a GS 1200 in June and I
reluctantly commit it to a long winter in my detatched, unheated
garage.I have kept other bikes out there and have not worried
too much about them, but my GS is different. I have enjoyed it so much
this past season that I would do anything to keep it healthy over the
winter.
I digress for a second, but part of
my question involves a deal offered by BMW Manhattan. For $700 dollars
plus tax, they will store your bike in a temperature contro...
05/28/07 - Re: Trade in values
Thanks everyone, for your comments and advice... the end of the story
went this way:
I got back to the dealer after their
initial low offer and I told the service manager that I would not
beable to make a trade for that amount and I would not be
buying a new bike. He said to hang on and that hewould look
at the numbers and see what he could do.
He
called me back with a significantly better offer - about as much as I
could ever have hoped for - and he put together a deal a trade.
