i think i'd go with the 650 again ---14hp isn't that much and the 8 has to run on high test the 8 is also geared a tooth lower on the countershaft--like the tubeless tires and like the seat height on 650---its like the ktm450exc i had--fell down more when stopped then when riding cause i couldn't touch the ground!!!---lol---and if i really wanted a bike to be more dirk would have kept the ktm--it would run rings around the 800 in the woods and probably be really close on the road i kno...

just my 2 cents--bought the 650 and totaled it hitting a deer---am trying to figure out what to do now--love the 650 great power--if you want it to be snapier just drop a tooth on the counter shaft and be geared like the 800--and still be able to run regular gas--not like the 800---to get an 8 to run on regular they detune it to 71 hp--tubless tires on 650 --eisier to repair in route--tubes in 800---the 650 more street? probably a bit because of less ground clearance and 19" front whell--i th...

i'm not doing too bad bad sprain left ankle ,broken right hand and a right side that still hurts a lot but otherwise ok have to go back in 1 month for another cat scan to check on the ole bean and i guess i should be ok. The bike i won't know till monday sometine the forks are bent pretty good everything on right side has gravel rash it looks to me like the steering head might be tweaked but i am not surei'm sure it would be a pretty pricy fix thou
