ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Concord, NC and started riding motorcycles at 5 years old. I lived about 3 minutes from an old rock quarry and would ride there every afternoon after all the workers left. I really developed my dirt skills there because the place was ever changing day after day. Never stopped riding that quarry until the day I turned 16 and bought a streetbike without my parents knowing. I kept that bike at a friends house for almost a year until my parents eventually found out what I had done. Man was that a bad day at the house ! I continued to ride both dirt and street and got into roadracing a little while later. Raced in harescrambles and enduros and eventually got really heavy into the adventure touring scene when I bought my first GS in 2001. I kept moving up towards the newer BMW GS bikes and found that they were far more capable than I had ever expected. In 2005 I became an International Instructor for BMW Motorrad. All of my training was done in both Munich and Hechlingen for certification. In 2007 I went back to Hechlingen for Instructor Level II HP2 only training. I fell in love with the HP2 and bought one a couple of weeks after returning from Germany. I now work at the BMW Performance Center as a motorcycle instructor for BMW for both on and off-road training. I am also one of the car driving instructors there as well. I presently own an older 650 Dakar, at least until my 800GS arrives !
