I have been on motorcycles since I was about 5 years old thanks to an older brother, transitioned from a 5hp mini bike up to some enduro and motocross 250’s and 350’s. I eventually lived without an off-road bike for about five years. In April 2006 I purchase a new GS Adventure 1200 and the off-road fire has been rekindled! In June 2007 a G650 Xchallenge followed me home …

favorite quote (Jimmy Lewis reflectiong on Xplor the Adirondacks ‘07): “Smithy rode that thing a lot farther than I would have… I figured no one in thier right mind would continue on a GSA…”

[quote user='Jca'] I'll have to clear my mind

Re: Vintage BMW Enduro bike

These where just posted over on ADVrider (1966/1965):

Re: Vintage BMW Enduro bike

I'm serious about this project and hope to get going on it this winter.  Problem is I am new to this airhead stuff and don't know where to start...

anyway, the pics of the ISDE bike came from the HPN site http://www.hpn.de/english/english.html (click on "gallery" and then all the way at the bottom).  The ISDE bike is obviously from a different era as the others pictured on the site. ...

Re: Vintage BMW Enduro bike

OK boys, this is really what I want!  What can you tell me about it?  I believe it is an old ISDE bike but what bike is it based on?  Looks like the top of the case has been machined off (no starter/generator).  Exhaust routed over the case.  What rear is that?  I would probably opt for some modern brakes though...
