The carrier I'm looking at using, who hauls for Harley among others, has a double-decker trailer. Bikes are brought on with a lift-gate, moved into the trailer and turned side-ways. I don't know if that allows for more bikes or prevents bikes rolling forward in case of a hard stop.

BMW cars have similar issue and those of us who drive them know there is about a 3PMH understatement of speed at 55 MPH. BMW auto magazines like Roundel are full of questions by new owners confused why the GPS shows a speed 3 MPH less than the speedo. Apparently cars and motorcycles suffer the same problem.
