ABOUT ME
I started riding when I turned 16. Kawasaki A-7 Avenger was my first bike which was followed by Honda CB750s, a Sportster a.k.a. “Kick and Cuss”, and a GL1000. In 2002, I retired the GL and purchased my first BMW, R1150R. My faithful oilhead and I parted ways in August 2007 after encountering a coyote at the expressway buffet on I-10 down in western Texas.
Had my first broken bones and first helicopter medivac BUT very little road rash thanks to the protective gear.
I am ready to ride again. I am amazed by the number of people who ask, "So are you done riding motorcycles?" To which I reply, "Did you stop driving cars after your auto accident?"
The ‘08 1200RT is the replacement bike and was purchased in December.
Looking forward to completing the route originally planned for 2007. Wisconsin to San Diego to Florida to S. Carolina back to Wisconsin. I enjoy rides of any length but tend to lean toward longer days in the saddle.
Be Safe Out There People. Everyday is a holiday and every meal a feast.

I attached a chunk of velcro to the top of my front brake master cylinder and to inside side (when viewed from inside of the steelcage) to the EZ-Pass. I used some of the heavy duty velcro (3M) found in the Aerostitch catalog. It has remained intact at more than legal speeds. It is easy to remove and reinstall.

You may want to call Daytona BMW and talk to Bill in the parts department. I believe he had a peeling display issue with a garmin unit too.

CSteinman - Thank you for the reply. Were the instructions for the AutoSwitch detailed enough or die you need to get information on wiring elsewhere? Love you icon... the hat and sportscoat is styling all the way! Ride Safe and Thanks Again. Wako4BMW

I would contact your dealer or Garmin. It is my understanding the protective layer will be repaired. Good Luck.
