I don’t know, but it seems that when I was a kid, snow days were more fun. Even if you didn’t go out to play, a snow day was a great .

The whole business of a snow day seems different now. Instead of a day where I don’t have to be anywhere, and I have the “luxury” of doing things like keeping up on the shovelling. Now shovelling is how I get my car to the street that I can’t drive on anyway because it hasn’t been plowed. Even if it has been plowed, there’s no where to go because if I’m off, everyone’s off and everything’s closed.

Guess there’s nothing more to do but step back, make a snow angel, and get a little perspective…

Where’d I leave that book?

After the storm, when we had finally dug our way out of 30” of snow, my fiancee and I donned our XC skis to survey the neighborhood. Most of the rest of the neighborhood was just starting to dig out as we came through. It’s one of the only times in this suburban paradise when you can see your neighbors.

Other people had taken our idea and began to drive around as they were able. We probably stopped to push three cars as we were touring.
